Classicyds is a small kennel situated on acreage at Caboolture, 35 minutes north of Brisbane, Australia. Our kennel name, Classicyds is pronounced: Classy Kids, and refers we hope to both the quality of our breeding and our love of the dogs we own and breed.
Our desire is to produce happy, healthy pups for pet homes, who are well socialized and become valued members of their new homes, and to produce quality show dogs, whose temperament, type and movement are true to the standard and become an important asset in the future of our breed. To this aim we are very selective with our breeding and will only use dogs we believe can really make a valued contribution to our breed. Temperament is vital and movement is essential!
We have been competing successfully in the show ring since 1998, but only started to breed in 2002.
Our first show dog, Grand Champion Cannyben Bonnys Crusade (Boofy) was purchased as a pet for Nadia's Valentine's Day present. At 9 months we decided to buy another pedigree puppy and our search led us to Greg Richens, Gremaric Border Collies. Greg was the one who encouraged us to show Boofy, and in his first two shows he picked up Res.Dog and 2 Champion Puppy In Group, needless to say we were hooked.
Along the way we ventured in Bearded Collies, quite by accident, and titled two outstanding young dogs: Grand Champion NZ Ch Mavang Royalist (Jake) and Ch Gleninca Charlottes Web (Charlotte).
Our first love has always remained Borders, and after the birth of our son, Jack, we returned to the show-ring to campaign Dalheath Keep My Shadow (Buddie) for Margaret Rockey, Dalheath Kennels, and then to finally own a Gremaric Bitch, Gremaric Indian Pacific (Indy), who is our foundation bitch and sister to the Multi Best In Show Winner, BISS Grand Champion Gremaric All Class.
Our first litter with Indy and Grand Champion Monochrome Currencycreek, produced two beautiful show bitches: Classicyds Congeniality (Geni), who won consistently as a youngster and is now with Elke Thein at her Borders Paradise Kennels in Germany where she has produced champions in several different countries, and our first homebred champion, Australian Champion Classicyds Constellation (Halley), who titled at 17 months.
In May 2004 we had our second litter of six puppies. Trucharm Royal Spirit (Chloe) was kindly leased to us by Kylie Leslie of Trucharm BCs and was mated to Australian Champion Gremaric Master Stroke HIT (Darcy), producing Classicyds Catch Me If U Can (Chase), and Classicyds Crackerjack who lives with Richard & Michelle Gray and has been successful from very limited showing.
In March 2005 Australian Champion Classicyds Constellation was mated to Australian Champion Shezilson Spirit Travler and produced six puppies. Our second generation of champions began with Australian Champion Classicyds Cabaret (Liza) titling at 15 months.
In May 2006 Halley was mated to BISS winner, Australian Champion Danari Danceth Waves and produced four beautiful babies. Classicyds Come Danc Wth Me (Fifi) and co-owned with Shae Sanders, Classicyds Can We Dance (Paetyn) made their debut in the show ring in August.
