Australian Grand Champion, NZ Champion Mavang Royalist (Jake)

WHELPED 27/04/98

Sire: Australian Champion Bendale Sunlover (imp UK)
Dam: Australian Champion Mavang Kilts Aswingin CDX ET ADM

Jake was our first Bearded Collie and from the time we got him (at 6 months) he proved to be both a delight to own and to show. At just 8 ½ months Jake gained his Australian Championship and despite being out of the ring for 6 months, went on the gain his Grand Championship at 2 ½ years!!

Jake just loved life, and especially David, so together showing was loads of fun...and very successful!

Jake's career highlights (in Australia) include:

  • 3 Royal Best of Breeds
  • 2 Reserve in Show
  • 20 in Show awards
  • 15 Best Exhibit in Group
  • 104 in Group awards

After completing his Grand title, Jake went on holiday to New Zealand to be shown by Jo Green, and in only one show did he not receive his class in Group or Show. In 2001 David handled Jake to his New Zealand Championship in his 7th show!! Along the way Jake won Best In Show at the South Island Collie Club Show.

Sadly later that year Jake passed away aged only 3 ½ of a brain tumor.

All those who knew this special boy miss him dearly. David always says he will never love another dog like Jake.....he is irreplaceable!
